Nottingham Forest youngster Josh Powell has secured another vital chapter in his footballing education, completing a season-long loan move to League Two side Northampton Town for the 2026/27 campaign.

When the January transfer window opened, the youngster packed his bags for Lancashire, swapping Colchester for Fleetwood Town. That mid-season switch unlocked another layer to his game. Tasked with marauding down the flank as a left wing-back, Powell thrived in the more advanced role, featuring in eighteen league games and quickly establishing himself as a reliable, trusted component of the Fleetwood side.
