As Oliver Glasner’s side gear up for today’s clash against Tottenham at the City Ground, a massive boost has arrived off the pitch. Fan favourite Neco Williams has officially committed his long-term future to the Reds, putting pen to paper on a new contract that runs until the summer of 2030.
A Monumental Rise on Trentside
The Wales international has firmly established himself as an integral pillar of the Forest team, racking up more than 160 appearances for the club since his arrival.
Williams is coming off the back of a truly sensational 2025/26 campaign that saw his stock skyrocket. The industrious full-back swept the board during a relentless season, capturing the club’s Player of the Month award four separate times including an incredible three consecutive months between January and March before being crowned the supporters’ Player of the Season.
His sheer durability and relentless work ethic were underlined by a staggering 63 appearances for club and country across the campaign. Notably, Williams featured in all but one of Forest’s 16 grueling UEFA Europa League matches as the Reds mounted an unforgettable run to the semi-finals on the European stage.
Having previously signed an extension in the summer of 2025, this latest agreement locks the 25-year-old down on Trentside for the long haul, taking his commitment right through to 2030.
Syrianos Praises Consistency and Reliability
Chief Football Officer George Syrianos hailed the new deal, highlighting just how crucial Williams has become to the club’s lofty ambitions under Glasner.
“Neco has been one of the best players in his position in the Premier League,” Syrianos told the club’s official media.
“His reliability, consistency and continued determination to improve explain why he has become such a loved player by both his teammates and the supporters.
“We want to continue developing and growing as a club, and a big part of that process is making sure our top-performing players are committed to the club.
“We are delighted he has signed a new deal and look forward to seeing him continue in a Forest shirt.”
With his future locked in for the next four years, Williams can now focus entirely on helping Forest translate their stellar European and domestic progress into a strong Premier League campaign starting with this afternoon’s visit from Spurs.
