Liam Delap says he is ready to get going at Nottingham Forest after completing his move from Chelsea.
The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract and is looking forward to a fresh start at Nottingham Forest after an encouraging spell with Ipswich Town.
“I’m buzzing. I really can’t wait to get started, it’s a massive club with a big history so I can’t wait.”
Liam Delap also spoke highly of Oliver Glasner and believes the Forest head coach can help him take another step in his career.
“I spoke with the Head Coach and I really like his way. I think he can be the one to really help me develop and get to that next step.”
Delap hoping to rediscover his best form
The striker knows what it feels like to perform in the Premier League. He scored 12 goals for Ipswich before making his move to Chelsea, and he looks back on that season fondly.
“It was probably the time when I’ve enjoyed playing football the most and I think that was when I played my best football as well. Hopefully I can recreate that here,” Liam Delap said.
Now the focus is on what Delap can produce in a Forest shirt.
“I’m aggressive and I play with a lot of speed and aggression. Hopefully I can bring some goals here as well.”
The forward also has ambitions that go beyond simply getting back among the goals. He wants Forest to make progress under Glasner.
“With the new Head Coach, I think we can build something really strong. The main aim is to challenge and be a top club in the Premier League.”
For Delap, the chance to start again at Forest comes, and he will be hungry to return to scoring as he did at Ipswich Town.
