Nottingham Forest confirmed XI vs Liverpool

Nottingham Forest head to Anfield on Saturday looking for their first goal of the new Premier League season, with Oliver Glasner preparing for his first away game in the competition as Reds boss.

Forest have had a difficult start. They lost 1-0 to Leeds United on the opening weekend before suffering another defeat, this time 2-0, against the same side in the Carabao Cup. They now face a Liverpool side that were held to a 2-2 draw by Newcastle last weekend.

Nottingham Forest confirmed lineup vs Liverpool

Oliver Glasner have made some changes from the side used in the cup, with Forest needing a response at Anfield.

Matz Sels starts in goal, with Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo, and Jair Cunha forming the back three.

The wing-back positions are taken by Neco Williams and Ola Aina, while James McAtee partners Schlager in midfield.

Further forward, Morgan Gibbs-White and Dan Ndoye operate behind Igor Jesus.

Nottingham Forest confirmed XI: Sels; Milenkovic, Murillo, Jair Cunha; Williams, McAtee, Schlager, Aina; Gibbs-White, Ndoye; Igor Jesus.

Neco Williams picked up a knock during Tuesday’s defeat to Leeds but is back in the squad, while Gibbs-White was nursing a knee injury but is starting behind Igor Jesus.

One major new option available to Glasner is Liam Delap on the bench. Delap has completed his club-record move from Chelsea and is set to start on the bench at Anfield.

Forest will hope the new signing can make an impact when called upon, but the starting XI will have the difficult task of getting something from Liverpool without having found the net in their opening two games in the new season.
