Nottingham Forest predicted XI selections have rarely been trickier than this one. The Reds head to Anfield on Saturday for a 12.30pm kick-off still hunting their first points of the season after back-to-back defeats to Leeds United, and Oliver Glasner has a genuine call to make in the two No.10 roles behind his striker.
The good news landed on Friday. Glasner confirmed that Morgan Gibbs-White, who sat out the Carabao Cup exit with a minor knee problem, and captain Ryan Yates are both available, while Ibrahim Sangaré misses out with a calf injury picked up in training, as reported by the Nottingham Post. “Morgan is available and Ryan Yates is available, so that is the good news,” the Austrian said.

Expect Glasner to stick with his 3-4-2-1. Matz Sels starts in goal behind a back three of Nikola Milenković, Murillo and summer signing Ousmane Diomande, with Neco Williams and Ola Aina asked to cover the ground as wing-backs. Yates should return alongside Nicolás Domínguez in the engine room, with Gibbs-White and James McAtee just ahead of them and Igor Jesus leading the line.

Liam Delap likely to wait for his Reds bow
Liam Delap only completed his club-record move from Chelsea on Thursday in a deal worth an initial £45million, so a place on the bench looks the sensible bet. Glasner has been clear about why he wanted him: with Taiwo Awoniyi sold to Coventry City, the Tricky Trees lacked a forward to run in behind. For a first away day at Anfield, though, a second-half introduction feels far more likely than a start.
