Oliver Glasner knows Nottingham Forest are heading into a difficult game at Aston Villa, and the Forest boss believes Unai Emery’s side are still familiar enough despite a busy summer.
Aston Villa have made several changes in attack, but Glasner doesn’t think their squad has been completely rebuilt.
“They had many transfer activities, especially in their attack, but the defence is the same,” Glasner said, as quoted by Birmingham Live.
He also pointed to the amount of continuity in Villa’s midfield and defence. For Forest, that means there should be little surprise in the way Villa set up.

Oliver Glasner knows Aston Villa have had to replace two important attacking players in Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins, but he’s still impressed by the options available to Emery.
“They now have a young player in Hemmings playing most of the games, but they have Garnacho and Alysson. It’s still a top squad.”
The Forest head coach also had plenty of praise for Unai Emery, who he clearly expects to have Villa playing his way despite the changes.
“Unai Emery, he’s a top, top coach, and, and, he will teach the group how he wants to play.”
Glasner’s biggest concern appears to be how Aston Villa use the ball. He watched their Champions League win over Club Brugge and spotted a clear pattern in their play.
“They showed exactly how they are playing against Brugge. In possession, clear structure, how he wants to play.”
Forest have recently picked up draws against Liverpool and Tottenham, but Villa will provide another test for Glasner’s team as they search for their first win of the Premier League season.
