Nottingham Forest have joined Newcastle United in the race to sign Athletico Paranaense defender Arthur Dias.
The 19-year-old has quickly become one of the most wanted young defenders in Brazil, with several European clubs also keeping close tabs on his development.
Tottenham are currently viewed as the frontrunners among the Premier League clubs, while RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Como, Atalanta, Atletico Madrid and Benfica are also believed to be interested.
According to TeamTalk, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle have now entered the picture, with Brentford also understood to have monitored Dias as his reputation continues to grow.
Arthur Dias gets his first call to Brazil senior team
Arthur Dias has already made 49 appearances for Athletico Paranaense’s first team despite his age. He has been a regular since 2025, giving him valuable senior experience that has increased his appeal to clubs across Europe.
The teenager’s performances have also earned him his first senior Brazil call-up. Carlo Ancelotti selected Dias in his latest squad for the upcoming friendlies against Australia and India.
Arthur Dias played an important role in helping Athletico secure promotion last season and has continued to feature regularly this campaign. He has made 31 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and helping his side keep 10 clean sheets.
Athletico are also prepared to discuss a new contract, with his current deal running until 2028.
With interest building from several clubs, Dias could become one of the more closely watched young defenders on the European transfer market.
